For many working professionals, this can be pretty true, which is concerning, as productivity and progress can’t bloom amidst feelings of stagnancy and discontentment. What is this 9-5 anyway?
You must know that Dolly Parton song called 9-5; it goes something like this:

To this day, the traditional 9-5 is susceptible to changes with the evolution of the professional landscape, employee expectations, consumer patterns, and more. When I say ‘creative workplace’, what’s the first picture that pops into your head? An open-floored office space with weirdly coloured and loud graffiti, a couple of 20-something guys moving about in a hoverboard, sleep pods, and a talking robot? Even though that’s an awesome picture, the reality of a creative workplace is not strictly about the aesthetics and availability of cool graffiti and hoverboards (bummer!).
A creative workplace can be defined by accepting unconventional or out-of-the-box thinking and celebrating creativity instead of letting it be thwarted under rules and regulations. It might not be too far-fetched to say that creativity has the potential to enliven the most mundane of things. When you introduce creativity into your office, you are opening doors to unbridled innovation and progress. While I am no experienced swimmer, I invite you to take a deep dive into facets of creativity in the workplace, its benefits, and strategies to imbibe it in your organizational culture.

You might have often heard the term’ company culture’ in the corporate world. It’s well known that a good company culture is essential to having sustained success and constant growth, but what makes a company culture creative?
A creative company culture is an ecosystem where innovation, exploration, and imagination are valued and rewarded. Think of a place where you are not just a cog in the machine and can express your views and be inventive with your approach. That sounds like a great deal to me!
Any organization that values and promotes cohesive thinking, where creativity is not restrained under the guise of protocol, has great potential in their respective industries. This approach inspires and motivates the employees, the backbone of any company, to come together to serve their combined work product rather than individual tasks through experimentation and more.

Moreover, this kind of culture rejects the arbitrary hierarchical system in an office, creating a healthy and ingenious arena for leaders and employees alike to come together and work their magic! Leaders are approachable mentors who foster a culture that values creativity and problem-solving at every level. - We like to mix it up:- Think of a fruit salad; fruits are great on their own, but when you put them all together, voila! There’s a brilliant taste explosion right there. Diverse people and their diverse perspectives lead to more creative solutions. Encourage your team to collaborate and share their ideas freely.
- Give them the reins:- No one likes a rigid taskmaster; autonomy and flexibility boost creativity. When employees are not stressed about walking the line, they can let their imaginations run wild. Let your team have their ‘Dobby’ moment to explore and experiment, and they will surprise you with extraordinary results.
- Everyone gets a say:- Arthur’s round table had no head on the table, giving rise to the mightiest heroes of mythology. Inclusive decision-making leads to better outcomes. Build your own round table by inviting verse voices to the table.
- Stay curious:- In this case, curiosity does not kill the cat; it helps the cat become powerful with practical knowledge. Prioritize ongoing learning and development. Push for workshops, conferences, and activities at your workplace to spark creative thinking.
- Take calculated risks. Let your employees jump as high as they want (and try to reach the stars); just have a safety net in place. Create a safe environment where experimentation is celebrated.
- Lead by example. An age-old saying remains relevant today: Ditch the whip and pick up the baton; lead by example, not by fear. Show your team that creativity matters. When you commit to learning and growth, they will too.
