Cyber-discipline advice from DRDO: Stay away from social media and random calls

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has issued a guideline to its staff members in an effort to underline the need of maintaining cybersecurity practises. The advisory covers a variety of safeguards and preventative actions to ward off any cyber incident that might occur at work.

The recent detention of Pradeep Kurulkar, a top scientist connected to the DRDO, served as the impetus for this warning. Kurulkar is charged with giving secret information to agents of the Pakistani intelligence service. Kurulkar was the director of a Pune-based laboratory that conducted research and development for engineers. The confiscated laptop and mobile devices have undergone a thorough investigation, and a thorough report has been created.

As a result, the DRDO has provided its staff with a number of important directives. Due to their vulnerability to being targeted by foreign organisations, the company is advising all of its employees to stop keeping social media profiles. They have also been cautioned by DRDO not to answer any calls on WhatsApp from unknown numbers or any other calls at all because they could be used as traps.

According to a report from ANI, the DRDO has also been holding training sessions led by experts to inform its staff on the significance of cyber discipline. Dr. Samir V. Kamat, the head of the DRDO, has acknowledged the Kurulkar event and highlighted the importance of staff acting responsibly.
