Air India, Tata Sons‘ re-owned corporation, was acquired from the government of India in 2022, re-establishing its brand values and public commitment.
The new fiscal year has begun with the implementation of Air India’s HR policy overhaul, which was announced in February. As part of a revamp of its HR policies, Air India gave female employees 26 weeks of paid maternity leave.
Women working for Air India would now be entitled to daycare assistance and 26 weeks of maternity leave. The approximately, 4400 female airline employees will benefit from these benefits. Of the 11,000 employees at Air India, around 40% are women.
Yes, the airline has changed its policies, and the advantages will be available to both adoptive and commissioning mothers.
Mothers who are female pilots will be able to choose more convenient flights with shorter turnaround times beginning in April 2023, up until the age of their infants. The decision will be made based on availability, though.
These benefits are being provided to all 5,000+ female employees of the airline as part of the “Making Our Moms Soar” or MOMS programme.
Maternity leave for both adoptive moms and women who become mothers through surrogacy has been raised from 12 to 26 weeks as part of this “returning mothers” scheme.
Not only that. Women can take use of daycare services that operate on a co-pay basis and gain from expert nutrition advice.
Female employees will have access to counsellors for advice on issues relating to mental health, childbirth, parenthood, and tips for new or expectant moms returning to the workforce.
The Tata Group-owned carrier has made a voluntary retirement plan available to employees who don’t fly. The promotion is valid through April 30, 2023.
