The world’s largest source of trained labor, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent remark, might be India. In the fourth industrial revolution era, technology has developed into and will stay the main source of employment, according to PM Modi.

 

The 4th G20 Employment Working Group (EWG) and Labour and Employment Ministers’ Meetings, which started on July 19 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, are now in their final day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed hope that the event would send a strong message for the welfare of all workers everywhere.

 

The Indian prime minister said that his country has the potential to become a major global provider of highly skilled labor. At the G20 labour and employment ministers meeting in Indore, he spoke via video conference and emphasized the impending transformational changes in the job sector, as well as the significance of creating responsive policies to cope with these quick changes.

 

In the age of the fourth industrial revolution, Modi emphasized that technology was the key to unlocking job prospects, and he praised India for its accomplishment in generating a large number of jobs in the sector.

 

He also advocated for skill development using modern technology and procedures, emphasizing the importance of training, deskilling, and upskilling.


The Prime Minister highlighted India’s successes, such as the ‘Skill India Mission’ and the ‘Pradhan Mantra Kushal Vikas Yojana,’ which have trained over 12.5 million young Indians in various skills. He stressed the significance of focusing on industry 4.0 sectors such as artificial intelligence, robots, the internet of things, and drones. He prophesied that in the future, a globally mobile workforce will become a reality.


He also emphasized the G20’s critical role in encouraging global collaboration and urged member countries to share statistics, information, and data about businesses and workers, enabling evidence-based policies for skilling, workforce planning, and greater employment prospects.


The Prime Minister emphasized the rise of new types of employees in the gig and platform economies, which proved robust during the pandemic by providing flexible working arrangements and revenue streams.
