AI will replace 46 percent of administrative jobs in India: Report
That artificial intelligence is here to stay in the world of the digital workplace is a well-known fact now. Researchers have not yet determined whether it will completely replace human jobs. However, it is very important to know AI can replace what types of jobs. According to one report, AI will replace 46 percent of administrative jobs in India.
Consequently, it is uncertain to what extent we humans will rely on AI in the future or what skills AI will have acquired by then. Although only time can tell which and how many human jobs AI can replace, there is growing concern among experts. This is all the more true as ChatGPT gains popularity.
Last year in August, it said that about 69 percent of jobs in India were at risk of automation because the Indian workforce is relatively young. Also, at the time, 160 million new workers were expected to be added within two decades.
A recent study by Goldman Sachs found that AI could replace two-thirds of jobs in the U.S. and the European Union, which is not surprising given the widespread automation in those regions.
The report shows that most of the jobs that will be eliminated are in the administrative and legal fields. About 46 percent of administrative jobs and 44 percent of legal jobs could be replaced by AI.
Businesses that perform physically intensive work may not be as affected, such as construction and maintenance jobs. Only about six and four percent of jobs in these sectors will be eliminated by AI, respectively.
But there is a good side to all of this. Annual labour productivity growth will be higher in the US. This will improve by 1.5% in ten years.
The global economy will get a boost from widespread AI automation. Global GDP is expected to increase by seven percent in around ten years.
Global growth will be achieved through the creation of new jobs, increased savings in labour costs and increased productivity of non-displaced workers.
