Mahindra Group introduced 5-year maternity policy
The policy enables the 'Mothers of Mahindra' to be good mothers without jeopardizing their professional development or journey.
Mahindra, an Indian global brand in automobiles, farming, life sciences, hospitality, and renewable energy, established a five-year maternity leave policy for its female employees as part of the #MothersOfMahindra program.
The latest 5-year maternity policy demonstrates Mahindra’s care for its women, particularly those on the path to motherhood. This strategy is intended to allow women to be wonderful moms to their children while also advancing professionally.
Going above and above to support #MothersOfMahindra, the five-year inclusive maternity policy guarantees women a stress-free motherhood experience.
The policy reimburses 75 percent of the cost of two IVF treatment cycles as part of the pre-childbirth support provided for a year. Pregnant women can travel within the country in premium economy and internationally in business class. In addition, they would be compensated up to Rs 600 for their daily trip to work in the final trimester.
New mothers are eligible for 26 weeks of maternity leave as part of the maternity aid (including in cases of adoption and surrogacy). In the tragic case of a miscarriage, they are entitled to 45 days of maternity leave. The expenses paid during maternity can be reimbursed up to Rs 1.25 lakh.
The policy also includes three years of post-maternity leave. That means that new mothers can have flexible work schedules for three years as long as they are at the base location and have received consent from their line supervisors. For baby care, a two-year allowance of Rs 5,000 is provided.
These advantages contribute significantly to the mental and physical well-being of expecting and new mothers, assuring their general health and well-being throughout their maternity journey.
Not only that, but while these women are on leave, they should not be concerned about their careers. They are eligible for performance pay for the entire year, as well as consideration for promotions. When they return to work, they are given the same or similar roles.
