The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has made significant progress in investigating a corruption case involving Rs 2 lakh by apprehending a Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, a PF officer, and an agent in Nashik, Maharashtra.
On the basis of a complaint submitted against the officers, CBI detectives conducted a thorough investigation that resulted in the arrests.
Agent B. S. Mangalkar, Enforcement Officer Ajay Ahuja, and Regional PF Commissioner Ganesh Arote are the names of the people who were brought into custody. The trio accepted and provided a bribe, only to be caught in a trap set by the CBI. They were then brought before a CBI court in Nashik, where they were placed under detention until January 1, 2024.
In order to resolve a PF-related issue involving the complainant’s company, the two PF officers are accused of plotting with a private PF consultant to demand and accept a bribe of Rs 2 lakh. The complaint further stated that the PF consultant was to receive the bribe.
Seven places in Nashik that were connected to the accused were searched by the CBI. The investigating agency found cash, diaries with information about illicit transactions, and other relevant things during the raids that contained incriminating material. According to CBI officials, a thorough investigation is presently being conducted.
