Sami-Sabinsa Group, a multinational health science company headquartered in Bengaluru, announced the appointment of Dr. Vijaya Kumar S as its Chief Executive Officer on Monday this week.
Sami-Sabinsa Group is an Indian multinational health science company founded in 1988 by Dr. Muhammed Majeed, an internationally acclaimed scientist and entrepreneur in the field of alternative medicine. The company has 1400+ workforce worldwide.
Sami-Sabinsa Group manufactures nutraceuticals, cosmeceuticals, standardized herbal extracts, fine chemicals, specialty chemicals, and probiotics.
The Sami-Sabinsa Group’s CEO, Dr. Vijaya Kumar, is a well-known and respected professional in the industry. He has a proven track record of fostering sustainable business growth in the pharmaceutical space. He has held leadership positions across large organizations such as Saurav Chemicals, Biocon, Centrient, Aurobindo, Dr. Reddys, Mckinsey, Novartis, GSK, and others.
With an illustrious career of 35 years in research and development, manufacturing, operations, and management, he brings a wealth of experience to his new role as the CEO of Sami-Sabinsa Group.
Dr. Vijaya Kumar has a depth of experience in manufacturing science, plant and process engineering, process analytics, plant automation, regulatory frameworks, and CAPEX management.
He is passionate about leveraging continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Sigma and Kaizen and delivering process improvements in his assignments.

Dr. Vijaya Kumar holds a doctorate degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). He has completed his postgraduate degree in management from the National University of Singapore.
