Bengaluru Woman Rejects Job Offer Due to CEO’s Behavior During Interview
In her post, Gupta described her doubts, which began when the CEO kept her waiting for 15 minutes during the interview. Initially, she attributed the delay to his busy schedule, but subsequent events left her uncomfortable.
A woman from Bengaluru recently shared her decision to reject a job offer due to the CEO’s unprofessional behavior during the hiring process. Vibha Gupta, a content writer, recounted her experience on LinkedIn, earning praise for choosing her dignity over the position.
In her post, Gupta described her doubts, which began when the CEO kept her waiting for 15 minutes during the interview. Initially, she attributed the delay to his busy schedule, but subsequent events left her uncomfortable.
“He made me wait for 15 minutes ( Not a problem because they have a lot of calls to attend to),” she explained.
When asked if she had received an introductory company video from HR, she answered no. The CEO then called in the HR representative and reprimanded them in front of her.
“He asked me if HR sent a video about the company. I said no, and he called her into his cabin and scolded her right in front of me. No respect for his employees. While I understand HR made a mistake, it’s disrespectful to scold your employee in front of a stranger,” she added.
The situation deteriorated when the CEO dismissed her creative work, comparing it to AI-generated content like ChatGPT, which she felt showed a lack of respect for her skills.
“He called copywriting ‘ChatGPT.’ Made me realize my work will not be respected by him,” Gupta said. “He copied a bio I wrote in the assignment and forwarded it to his marketing team. I will not be surprised if they update their bio in some days.”
Her concerns ultimately led her to withdraw her application. “He might find someone who’ll be a great fit for his company, but he doesn’t deserve me,” Gupta concluded.
