According to the police, the victim stated in her complaint that she submitted her PhD pre-submission six months ago and that no comments were supplied by the supervisor or other department faculty members.
Furthermore, the supervisor was accused of inappropriately touching her and engaging in sexual dialogues while monitoring her work on her laptop.
The research scholar alleged that the accused tried to summon her to the department at strange hours, that he labelled her work useless, and that he refused to submit her thesis after it became evident to him (accused) that she would not meet his requests.
She also claimed that she went to the police after not receiving a response from the AMU vice-chancellor or the registrar, to whom she had written about her “ordeal.”
“She claimed that she had been attempting to persuade her supervisor for the past six months, but he kept refusing because she had consistently rejected his (accused) sexual advances and overtures,” the statement continued.
Since such occurrences are a serious worry when prevention regulations are in place. This was intended to happen for the organizations or institutions that are required to guarantee a harassment-free workplace to women.
That is how we may achieve a work culture of equal gender rights, where both genders can work freely. Organisations must take severe actions, and the people strategists in particular must prioritize people over gender culture. With such thinking, it is feasible that we may move forward in creating a safe workplace for everybody.
