An HR manager from a private company has been charged by the Mumbai police for allegedly requesting sexual favors in exchange for the release of a provident fund.
After a woman claimed that the manager of human resources (HR) had demanded sexual favors in exchange for releasing her deceased father’s provident fund (PF), the police took action.
The alleged HR manager of a private company is the target of a police complaint from a 23-year-old lady from Bandra (E), Mumbai, who claims that he demanded sexual favors in exchange for releasing her father’s provident fund (PF), which has since passed away.
After the incident surfaced on Wednesday, it caused indignation and led Mumbai police to take appropriate action. The woman, who lives with her younger brother and grandmother and works as a domestic helper, described her trauma in detail in the complaint.
At the age of fifteen, her father passed away in 2015, and she was nominated to take over his PF. The employer purportedly withheld the payment, citing delays and bureaucratic obstacles, even though the employee submitted various documents to collect the PF.
Exasperated by the protracted delay, the woman reached out to the company’s HR manager, only to encounter additional hardship. Her lawsuit states that, in order to hasten the release of her father’s PF, the HR manager demanded sexual favors.
The women, horrified and shocked by the immoral request, recorded the talks as proof and went to the police to demand that justice be done.
The accused HR manager has been charged under pertinent provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act by the Mumbai police, who have taken cognizance of the incident.
The woman and her family are waiting eagerly for justice for the exploitation they suffered during an already difficult period of bereavement and financial hardship, as the accused has not yet been taken into custody.
