Ashok Leyland introduces a women-centric cabin line in the Pantnagar, Chhatarpur, factory.
Ashok Leyland, a commercial vehicle maker, has established a dedicated line at its Pantnagar factory in Uttarakhand to produce cabins with amenities tailored to women. The move is part of the company’s commitment to gender diversity and an endeavor to create doors for a diverse staff while also promoting a fair and equal environment.
This new series will address the growing need for large cabins in commercial vehicles. It can assemble 56 cabins in one shift and run for two shifts. The distinctive aspect of this project is that women will lead in all aspects of manufacturing, including product design, material procurement, quality control, and production planning.
According to a press release, the cabin trim line will be set up like a factory, with women carefully assembling the painted vehicle cabins. They will install critical components such as the steering system, windows, electronic components, headlights, and driver seats.
Furthermore, after installing these parts, they will test the vehicle to ensure that everything functions properly and is safe for a comfortable driving experience. The company’s belief in creating a more inclusive ecosystem is reinforced by the new women-centric line at its Pantnagar plant.
Clearly, the company prioritizes diversity and inclusion, ensuring that everyone has equal access to opportunities regardless of gender or ethnicity.
