HCL Employees will face disciplinary action for not following 3 day WFO Mandate

Three days a week, employees of HCLTech are required to work from the office. At least three days a week of office work have been mandated for HCLTech’s senior management and leadership teams.

All employees, regardless of band (E0 and above), are now required by the corporation, HCL, to report to the office thrice a week or face disciplinary action.

The reports claim that, based on discussions held at HR meetings, HCLTech management may be threatening to take unpaid leave of absence if workers miss three consecutive days of work.

“All DFS (Digital Foundation Services) employees, irrespective of their band (E0 and above), will be required to work from their designated HCLTech offices for a minimum of three days a week,” stated Vikas Sharma, global head of HCLTech’s people function at DFS.

In addition to HCLTech, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a large IT company, gave its remote workers a final warning last week and requested that they return to the office in March.

The business also issued a warning, stating that noncompliance could have dire consequences. The Chief Operating Officer of NG Subramaniam clarified that remote work is ineffective in fostering a positive workplace culture.

The Chief Operating Officer, NG Subramaniam, recently stated, “We are very clear that we have to get our original culture back,” in an interview with TOI. During the pandemic, almost 40,000 employees joined us online and left without interacting with us in person. This kind of situation is not beneficial to an organization.

“Our company does not employ people who use TCS as a launching pad. “An organization cannot develop a strong culture through remote working,” NG Subramaniam continued.

“We are being patient, but we have made the moral decision that staff members must return to their offices. The last word on this has been conveyed to the staff; if they don’t respond, there will be repercussions, he stated.
