Hero Motocorp, an Indian multinational and one of the world’s largest scooter and motorcycle manufacturing companies, has hired Dr. Prardyumna Pandey as its manufacturing HR Head.
In this new role as manufacturing HR Head, Pandey will be based in Delhi and report to the company board. He will also be accountable for promoting a culture and building a workforce that is adaptable, as well as an HR function that multiplies ideas and nurtures design thinking.
Pandey has over three decades of experience in human resources and a remarkable knack for creating and executing imaginative human resource strategies and organisational development interventions that are tailored to the company’s needs.
He has previously worked at ACC, Holcim, JK Tyres, CBL Pro, and Torrent Pharmaceuticals. Pandey began his career as a human resources manager for ACC, a cement production firm. He joined the company in 1991 and was in charge of the plant and corporate office for over 14 years.
This was the longest stint in his HR career. He then served as regional HR head at Holcim, a building materials manufacturing firm, for more than 4 years, from August 2005 to November 2009.
Pandey was in charge of HR and IR matters, as well as OD interventions for the region, which included four cement factories and commercial HR at Holcim. From 2009 to 2014, he served as Mawana Sugars’ associate vice president and head-HR, overseeing all HR and IR affairs for the company’s sugar sector. He then joined JK Tyres and Industries in January 2014 as vice president and head of human resources, where he stayed for nearly 6 years.
Pandey was responsible for advancing JKTIL’s performance goals at JK Tyres by leading the development and implementation of people and organisational initiatives, promoting business-oriented organisational development, enhancing talent and organisational capabilities, and reinforcing a performance culture by utilising the company’s fundamentals.
Pandey will now handle all manufacturing aspects of Hero Motocorp. He is known for his incredibly focused, strategic leadership and dedicated approach to work.
Pandey, as a key part of the HR leadership team, will steer the organisation towards future growth amid a period of constant transformation. He will work with the leadership team to develop and implement people and talent strategies in the manufacturing units that are in line with company objectives.
Pandey attended Cornell University, where he earned his certification in HR business leadership. He received his doctorate from the Noida International University.
