Everyone is known to have a hybrid work model post-pandemic, but can this addict employees and force them to give up six-figure salaries?

A hybrid workplace model combines in-office and remote work to provide flexibility and support to employees. Employees in a hybrid workplace typically have more autonomy and a better work-life balance, and as a result, they are more engaged.

However, the autonomy and better work-life balance afforded by the hybrid work model are now compelling employees to forego six-figure salaries in order to work from home.

An administrator in Arizona is making headlines for her decision to resign from her high-paying job rather than return to work full-time! Felicia makes a six-figure salary as an administrator in Arizona.

Her employer used a hybrid work model, which she thought worked well for her, allowing her to be productive while also striking a balance between home and office. She was able to work from home for three days and from her workplace/office for two days, which she found to be ideal and rather effective.

However, now that her employer wants her to return to the office full-time, the 53-year-old has decided to resign rather than give up flexibility and work-life balance, both of which she believes are important for productivity.

She felt, she didn’t need to return to the traditional 9-5 job because she could perform her official duties and complete her tasks from home.

Felicia believes she was able to work without interruptions or distractions in the quiet surroundings of her home, allowing her to focus on her work and be more productive. At the same time, she relished the two days of in-person work where she got to meet and interact with her colleagues in the hybrid model’s physical office.

She believes that full-time in-person work leads to less productivity because there are more casual interactions and gossip sessions, which are a huge distraction and waste valuable time. The commute to work was also taking its toll on her, as she already thought it was a waste of time.
