No More Traditional Hiring : Kerala IT firms opt for a New Hiring Model
Information technology (IT) companies in Kerala are evaluating applicants using tests appropriate for the current digital era, instead of outdated hiring practices. These assessments aid in identifying applicants who can genuinely stay up to date with new technological developments.
Keralan IT firms are implementing a new hiring procedure that replaces the conventional recruitment process with a multiphase, extended practical evaluation process. This method evaluates candidates’ ability to use newly (IT) acquired knowledge and adjust to quickly evolving technology in a dynamic setting.
In the conventional method, candidates are chosen through a shortlisting process that takes into account their engineering grades, written exams, and interviews. With the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI), it is thought that traditional methodologies are no longer appropriate for identifying people who can succeed in the current digital world.

Candidates are no longer chosen or shortlisted based on how well they performed on written tests and interviews, or how well they scored in their engineering course. In order to secure positions in Keralan software companies (IT), candidates will now be required to solve real-world issues and difficulties prior to the interview stage under the new hiring approach.
During the month-long talent-acquisition program (IT) Launchpad Kerala 2024, the new recruiting procedure was presented and discussed. The Group of Technology Companies (GTech) throughout the state and the Kerala Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) coordinated it.
More than 10,000 engineering students are expected to participate in this pilot program, which will require them to complete tasks aimed at enhancing their technical proficiency, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability in order to be considered for jobs offered by various IT, tech, and multinational companies throughout the state.
The organizers contend that businesses everywhere ought to adopt this new recruiting approach in light of the speed at which artificial intelligence (AI) is gaining traction and digitizing.
Additionally, job fairs with the purpose of testing the new hiring paradigm are set for June, August, and October at IT Parks in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and Kozhikode, respectively.
