PepsiCo India Launches “RevolutioNari” to Empower 1 Million Women
RevolutioNari builds upon PepsiCo India’s decade-long dedication to diversity and inclusion. The company’s goal is to achieve a gender-balanced workforce by 2026 across all levels. To realize this vision, PepsiCo India will roll out several initiatives
PepsiCo India has embarked on a transformative mission to empower 1 million women across the country through its newly launched program, RevolutioNari. This initiative aims to bridge the gender gap in the workforce over the next three years, fostering a more inclusive and equitable future for India.
RevolutioNari: A Revolution for the Nari
RevolutioNari focuses on three critical areas:
Education: The program educates women, particularly those interested in unconventional roles within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, such as sales, manufacturing, and agriculture. It provides insights into potential career paths and equips women with the necessary skills to thrive in these fields.
Skills Development: Through targeted training programs, RevolutioNari ensures that women gain practical skills and knowledge relevant to their chosen career paths. Whether it’s mastering sales techniques or understanding agricultural practices, the program empowers women to excel.
Job Opportunities: The ultimate goal is to connect women with direct employment opportunities or support them in building their own ventures. By fostering entrepreneurship and providing access to job openings, RevolutioNari aims to transform livelihoods.
Collaboration for Success
Collaboration lies at the heart of RevolutioNari. PepsiCo India has partnered with a consortium of organizations, including the Nirmaan Organisation, The Social Lab Foundation, and Internshala, to amplify outreach efforts. Additionally, the program collaborates with the Assam Skill Development Mission and the Directorate of Employment & Craftsmanship Training to specifically upskill women students in Assam, preparing them for frontline positions within PepsiCo India.
Inclusivity Across Diverse Backgrounds
RevolutioNari reaches out to women from diverse backgrounds:
Undergraduate Students: The program targets undergraduate students, with a special focus on those studying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and Agriculture. By nurturing their potential, it aims to create a pipeline of skilled professionals.
Underprivileged Women: Recognizing the importance of inclusivity, RevolutioNari extends its reach to underprivileged women, ensuring that economic empowerment is accessible to all.
Senior Secondary School Students: Even at the secondary school level, the program inspires young women to explore unconventional career paths, breaking stereotypes and opening doors to new possibilities.
Investing in Women, Investing in India
PepsiCo India believes that investing in women is synonymous with investing in the nation’s future. By empowering women, the company not only improves individual lives but also contributes to India’s overall economic development. Pavitra Singh, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at PepsiCo India and South Asia, emphasizes this commitment: “The launch of RevolutioNari marks a significant milestone in our decade-long commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our focus extends beyond merely providing opportunities; we aim to catalyze a fundamental change in how society views and supports economic empowerment for women.”
A Brighter Future Ahead
RevolutioNari builds upon PepsiCo India’s decade-long dedication to diversity and inclusion. The company’s goal is to achieve a gender-balanced workforce by 2026 across all levels. To realize this vision, PepsiCo India will roll out several initiatives:
