Samsung, a South Korean multinational electronics company, has reduced pay raises for its employees. The average salary increase was 4.1 percent.
The company made the announcement internally on Saturday, April 15. However, in the previous year, the company had agreed on a salary increase of 9 percent on average for its employees. In addition, the company’s employees asked for a 16 percent pay raise after the company posted revenue.
IANS reports that the company has frozen pay raises for its board members due to poor performance amid a worsening chip glut and a global economic slowdown.
Samsung’s change in policy

In addition, it was reported that the company is currently exploring the possibility of establishing an internal AI service similar to ChatGPT, which could assist employees with coding tasks and improve productivity.
TCS employees to receive 12-15% pay increase
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is expected to raise its employees’ salaries as usual.
Milind Lakkad, chief human resources officer, said, “Top performers are expected to receive a 12-15 percent salary increase.”
“Our increases this year will be similar to those in previous years. Particularly for high performers, we are looking for a 12 to 15 percent increase … and then there’s 8, 5, 1.5 percent – that’s the number that’s in question for the rest,” Milind Lakkad said.
Air India staff to get 8-10% pay hike
Tata Group-owned Air India will revise the salaries of its employees, and the pay hike is expected to be close to 8-10%. The salary increase will benefit all employees, including pilots and cabin crew. The first salary increase will be for the pilots. After that, the salary increase will be for the cabin crew and other employees.
