Taiwan and India handshake for growth and jobs

Taiwan and India signed pact or agreement for growth and jobs-hiring in India

The Taiwanese government intends to hire Indian workers. The Taiwanese government expects these personnel to meet important industry demands and strengthen the Taiwanese economy. Both countries hope to clinch a work agreement by December.

Taiwan is on track to become a primarily aged society by 2025, with elderly people accounting for more than a fifth of the population, or 20%. Since 2000, the country has seen a significant drop in unemployment, and a recent decision hopes to attain and retain a $790 billion economy target. It is looking to India’s youth to compensate for a shortage of fresh talent.

The two countries’ formal agreement will allow Indian workers to stay in Taiwan for a maximum of three years. They are permitted to bring their families. The Taiwanese government has told foreign workers that they will receive advantages comparable to those of Taiwanese workers, such as paid leave, a minimum wage, and social security.

By December, around one lakh Indian workers will be moved to Taiwan to work in industries, farms, and hospitals.

India has entered into a mobility pact with wealthy countries that are battling a labor shortage. It has successfully entered into official agreements with 13 countries, including the United Kingdom, Japan, and France. Furthermore, talks are underway to establish similar arrangements with Greece, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Switzerland.
