Workplace burnout affects 27% of employees, with women being the most affected, a recent survey report revealed.

The risk of burnout persisted in 2023 and affected 27% of workers in large Indian companies, which is 3% higher than that of their mid-sized counterparts.

The Great Place to Work report on IT and IT-BPM found that senior managers who were female had a five percent higher rate of burnout than those who were male.
Big businesses, on the other hand, showed a one percent increase in employee satisfaction, while mid-sized businesses maintained an impressive 85 percent score—beyond that of their larger competitors—according to the report.

“Compared to last year, we observe that the industry has seen minor changes in employee perceptions. According to Yeshasvini Ramaswamy, CEO of Great Place To Work India, “dimensions like pride and fairness emerged as the highest and lowest in employee sentiment, respectively,” despite a decline in the overall employee experience.

“The reduction in camaraderie (-1 percent) and a diminished sense of pride (-1 percent) among employees have shaped the overall employee experience,” she stated.

According to the report, IT companies have been investing an average of 1.97 crore per year in training and development, demonstrating how important it is to foster employee growth.

Workplace Ikigai presents itself as a comprehensive response to the problems of the present, enabling people to connect their interests, build deep connections, exhibit remarkable leadership, and leave a lasting impression.

The majority of Best Workplaces—about 83%—mindfully invest in the development of their employees. The report stated that although leadership excellence has the lowest score when it comes to workplace leadership, it has shown an upward trend, highlighting the need for increased accountability and authenticity at the leadership level.

In addition to promoting worker well-being, workplace Ikigai increases output, retention rates, and creativity. Remarkably, 77 percent of IT companies in 2023 will keep an eye on the welfare of their employees, with 55 percent using a variety of techniques.

The report also stated that a noteworthy 1.7X higher retention rate can only be attained by combining IT workplaces with personal fulfillment.
