In honor of International Women’s Day, United We Care, a cutting-edge deep-tech startup committed to transforming emotional and mental wellness, has carried out a thorough workplace study that provides insight into the mental health conditions of India’s youth.
The survey, which included a sizable sample size of 13,260 men and almost 15,400 women, provided important new information about workplace stress, gender discrimination, and mental health issues in urban areas.
Key findings of the workplace wellness survey :
- Among the 18–34 age range, 55% of female users who interacted with mental health content on the platform were women.
- According to the results, 62.5% of women and 37.5% of men showed greater levels of engagement with content related to mental wellness.
- 18.75% of the overall number of female engagements were from cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, indicating a higher need for mental health services in metropolitan regions.
- The percentage of women who experience burnout varies by industry: BFSI reported 19%, IT/ITeS/SaaS/Hi-Tech saw 49%, FMCG + Manufacturing saw 10%, and services + retail saw 22%.
- Interestingly, women’s interest in emetophobia (the fear of vomiting) and methods for controlling obsessive thoughts has resulted in the highest level of participation on the platform. These women’s past interests on the site span from politics and journalism to entertainment, technology, and lifestyle.
United We Care’s founder and chief operating officer, Shumita Kakkar, stated in her response to the survey that the organization’s primary goal is to offer millions of people easily accessible and reasonably priced mental wellness treatments.
The results of this survey highlight how crucial it is to make mental health support a top priority, particularly for women in the workforce.
