Govt. revised minimum wages for Engineering Industry
The Maharashtra government issued an official notification regarding a revision in the minimum wages for employment in engineering industries on November 21, 2022, under the Minimum Wage Act, 1948.
The revised basic minimum wage will go into effect on November 21, 2022, and it must be paid to employees in scheduled employment to work in the “Engineering Industry.“
The Revised are Following:
The revised minimum wage is payable categorised based on zones:
a). Zone-I: Areas under Municipal Corporation and Industrial Area, within radius of 20 kilometers.
b). Zone-II: Areas under limits of A, B, C Municipal Councils and Cantonment Areas.
c). Zone-III: All other areas excluded Zone-I and Zone-II.
The revised payable minimum wage is payable on Hourly, Daily, Weekly and Monthly basis shall be computed by dividing the minimum wage of monthly wages fixed for the class.
The minimum wage is consist of basic rates, the cost of living allowance and the cash value of concession.
