Artificial intelligence (AI) is being used more and more in the age of technology, digitalization, and changing work models. According to certain research, AI will replace 46% of administrative work’s- backend jobs. So how many HR positions might AI take over?
According to a new survey by Personio, the leading provider of HR software in Europe for small and medium-sized enterprises, 81% of HR decision-makers on the continent are seeing a rise in senior leadership interest in implementing artificial intelligence (AI).
Based on responses from 500 CHROs (HR decision-makers) in the UK and Ireland, the study illuminates the disparities in adoption rates between generations and the growing ubiquity of AI tools in the workplace.
While senior leaders are spearheading AI innovation, the study highlights that younger HR professionals are at the forefront of embracing this technological shift.
Compared to 69 percent of HR professionals aged 55 and above, an astounding 78 percent of individuals in the 25–34 age range are currently using AI-powered products, indicating a distinct generational trend in AI use.
As 91 percent of HR managers presently utilizing AI technologies report either observed or predicted cost reductions within their departments, one of the main drivers behind the adoption of AI is its ability to create observable cost savings for enterprises.
The survey also shows that efficiency advantages are a motivating element, with 59% of respondents thinking AI will simplify HR procedures and free up teams to concentrate on more strategically important parts of their jobs.
Study Highlights
To allay employee fears and enable the complete integration of AI in the workplace, the research does, however, point to the necessity of education and training. The main obstacle to embracing AI, according to about 51% of respondents, is losing one’s job, which highlights the need for a thorough strategy to allay employee concerns.
Pete Cooper, Director of People, Partners, and Analytics at Personio, highlights the significance of education in the adoption of AI, saying that “training and education, both for HR departments and employees, must go hand-in-hand with the introduction of AI.” By equipping workers with the necessary abilities to utilize AI sensibly and productively, we can allay their concerns about losing their jobs and enhance the entire work experience.
Applied futurist Tom Cheesewright supports the notion that AI enhances human abilities rather than substitutes them. “AI can assist you with some of your tasks, but not your entire workload. People and the characteristics that make each person unique will be valued more as technology advances and artificial intelligence is used more frequently.
The future of the workplace is anticipated to be significantly shaped by the incorporation of AI into HR procedures, as companies continue to place a high priority on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
