To Reduce Costs Zomato Plans to Lay-off 3% Workforce: Report
The online food delivery platform said that they are planning to lay off nearly 3% of their workforce. The new development came after co-founder Mohit Gupta resigned on Friday!
The Indian industry’s oldest online food delivery aggregation and platform announced a 3 % workforce cut after co-founder Mohit Gupta resigned, accross organisation on Saturday. This workforce reduction will be based on cost-cutting efforts and the desire to become profitable.
Approx 100 employees already have impacted accross the organisation in diffrent fucntions. Functions like- product, technogy, catalouge and marketing Moneycontrol reports.
On Saturday, an zomato’s spokesperson said, “There has been a regular performance based churn under 3 percent of their workforce, there are nothing more to it.”
The development comes after co-founder Mohit Gupta resigned on Friday after four and a half years at the company. This is third exit in the C-Suite Execitive level last few weeks.
Moreover, Rahul Ganjoo quited earlier this week for the position of Head – New Initiatives.
Earlier in this month, Zomato’s Vice President for Global Growth Shidharth Jhawar announced his exit as well.
This second time post pendamic when food aggregator reduced 13% workforce as a result to extended Covid-pendamic and lockdown.
That is based on repeated loss in the revenue of the food aggregator and delivery plateform Zomato. As resported 251 Crores net loss in quarter ended on 30th september , 2022.
